Experience
I am a 2011 graduate with highest honor from Wheaton College in Illinois. I hold bachelor degrees in both Secondary Education and Mathematics. I also have initial teaching certification for the state of Illinois. My greatest academic and teaching strengths are in the fields of mathematics. As a professional educator, I've taught middle school and high school math with focus on pre-algebra, algebra, algebra II, calculus, and geometry. Additionally, I taught Math Prep for the SAT at a special academic summer camp. Both the current and new formats of the test were covered during these tutoring sessions. I'm looking forward to teaching and/or tutoring middle and high school students in the Charlottesville area this year. Along with my credentials in education, I also am experienced working as an insurance professional. I've sat and earned passing grades on two of the professional exams required by The Society of Actuaries. This is a professional research and educational organization for actuaries practicing in the United States and Canada. When I'm not busy teaching or tutoring students, I spend time getting to know my new city, Charlottesville, Virginia. My spouse and I moved here recently and are enjoying exploring the beauty and historic landmarks of the area.
