Gender:Female
Preferred Subjects:Spanish, Study Skills/Organization, Algebra, General Math, and English (Writing)
Experience:I have tutored as a volunteer since sophomore year of high school, teaching general elementary school subjects and English. I used to tutor through the EXCEL Tutoring Program at Herndon Elementary School (in Northern Virginia) and have tutored through Madison House in Charlottesville at Cale Elementary School and with Migrant Aid.

I received a 1340 on my SATs with the old scoring (680 verbal/660 math). I took AP tests in World History (4), US History (4), English Language (5), English Literature (3), Comparative Government (4), and US Government (3).

I am currently a 4th year Spanish and Anthropology double major at UVA and am interested in tutoring again, as I have taken the past year off from tutoring after spending a semester in Valencia, Spain. I am continuing with my 9th year of Spanish. This year I am also an intern at the UVA Women's Center and am participating as a Big Sister in YWLP (Young Women Leaders Program), which is a mentoring program at UVA.

I am a great motivator and am patient when teaching kids. I know that everyone learns differently and at different paces, so I always try to plan my tutoring specific to each kid's individual needs. I am also creative and can think of fun ways to teach material so that tutoring is not just something to be dreaded, but can be a fun activity for both me and my tutoree.
Hobbies:I am on the UVA Women's Club Volleyball team and enjoy many other sports, my other favorite besides volleyball being baseball. I also love to travel, take photographs, and read.
