EducationI hold an MA in Spanish & Spanish American Literature from the #1 program in the nation: The University of Virginia. As part of my undergraduate studies, I lived and studied in Spain and Costa Rica for two years, made the Dean's List every semester and earned the Caribbean & Latin American Studies Writing Prize for the best piece of the 2006-2007 academic year.
ExperienceI have over 10 years of tutoring experience and have used my translation skills in business, taught two years of advanced Spanish language courses at the University of Virginia and two years of all levels of Spanish at St. Anne's-Belfield School. I love teaching in a classroom setting, but nothing compares to the one-on-one interaction and first row seat to the "aha!" moments that I enjoy as a tutor. Through teaching Spanish, I have come to learn that most of my students were never properly taught English grammar and struggle with general writing skills, so I am happy to tutor in those areas as well.
Parents will receive prompt feedback via email after each lesson. I also offer free online support after lessons, where appropriate.
NB: My rate is $45/hour with a $5 discount for students meeting at least 3x/week. I have a 48-hour cancellation policy regardless of the reason for the cancellation.
HobbiesI of course love all things Spanish! I currently sponsor a child in Costa Rica and love keeping in touch with her, and I volunteer for Literacy Volunteers (www.literacyforall.org) in an effort to support the local hispanic community. I am also a distance running coach, animal lover and avid equestrian with my own horse boarding business about 15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville: Bosch Farm.

She responded right away. She stays in communication. Her tutoring is excellent and she's getting my daughter back up to speed in Spanish. Couldn't ask for more!
We had a great experience with Megan! She was very pleasant and worked well with our son! I would highly recommend her! Our son learned more in the 4 weeks working with her than he did in his classroom. Her tutoring is well worth the investment! We will definitely be using her again!
I would highly recommend Megan for a Spanish Tutor. She has tutored two of my daughters with High School Spanish I and II. She was able to help one of them turn their grade from a "D" to a "B" and now she truly is understanding Spanish.
Megan is awesome! Super helpful, flexible with your schedule, and very patient. Highly recommend!
While struggling with Spanish as a Freshman, I contacted Megan Bosh for help looking to boost my grade and better understand what I was learning. Within the first couple of meetings I was almost completely caught up with the things that I was behind on and had already noticed an increase in my grade overall. She has a very good personality which made it easy for me to connect with her and feel comfortable being tutored. I highly recommend contacting her if you find yourself struggling like I did.
My first year at the University of Virginia I took an intermediate Spanish course, which was taught by Megan. She not only brought a ton of energy and fun to the classroom but she also was the best Spanish teacher I have had at any level. Megan made herself very accesible to students outside the classroom for one-on-one tutoring. Her methods of teaching helped me to learn a lot that semester, which in turn sparked my interest to study abroad in Spain and spend a summer in Guatemala. I would highly recommend Megan for anyone looking for a great Spanish tutor!
Megan was my Intermediate Spanish teacher at the University of Virginia. A couple of times during the semester, I asked if Megan could help me a little bit outside of class. She was readily available and more than willing to work with me to improve my Spanish. Overall, I would say Megan was one of the best Spanish teachers I have had. She is super friendly and very easy to get along with. She even encouraged me to study abroad in Spain, and I had an incredible experience!
Megan was my intermediate Spanish professor during my senior year at St. Anne’s-Belfield School. Inside the classroom, she was friendly, positive, energetic, and constantly finding different ways to make class fun. Also, she was always willing to help students outside of the classroom and I took advantage of this throughout the year. Her patience and ability to communicate material simply and clearly makes learning and remembering spanish easier and more enjoyable. Megan's willingness to help and teach others makes her the perfect tutor. I highly recommend Megan to help you out!
