ExperienceWhy I want to tutor:
I'm a research scientist, and I love both lab work and teaching. My current position lacks teaching duties, and tutoring will allow me to keep up with one of the most rewarding aspects of science - witnessing others learn!
As a graduate teaching assistant at UVa, I taught Cell & Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, and Organismal Biology lab. As a college student, I assisted instructors in Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology labs. I have extensive experience meeting with students one-on-one to set goals, cover material, prepare for tests & quizzes, write research papers, and conduct independent experimental research.
